Start with the end in mind. Here in Matthew 6:5-15 Jesus is preaching the greatest sermon ever preached – The Sermon the Mount. There he speaks to the crowds about what his kingdom will be like, teaching on all sorts of topics; anger, lust, divorce, oaths, retaliation, loving one’s enemies, etc. In the middle of his discourse, Jesus teaches his disciples how to pray.
